Mr. James

Lots of Henry today. "Jolly Corner," which until yesterday I always thought was "The Jolly Coroner." I just mainly wanted to share this image from it:

"...the sense of the hard silver of the autumn stars through the window-panes..." (713).

Well, back to the monster. There's also something appropriate about following a blog about pies with Henry James. Did you know he hired a fencing teacher to address 'symptoms of a portentous corpulence' (Complete Stories 932)?

So that's what he looked like? I guess I always pictured him with a beard.

My sympathies with those interminable sentences (how's that for your genius blog?)

I think in most pictures he does have a beard.
