It's not too late to join the fun Everyone!
(including you John) ;)
Mrs. B. Roth, Baby Olivia, and Lora have all moved to the next round! Lora's symbol will be added soon. Some hints may help. Although some questions will be left unadorned for any purists out there.
Questions remaining for Old Testament:
1. What two men tried to pretend to rulers that their wives were only their sisters?*
3. What did Absalom get caught in a tree? (He should have ducked)
5. Who gave the following as a gift to make peace with a relative: 220 goats, 220 sheep, 30 camels, 50 cattle, and 30 donkeys? (He later was named Israel by God)
6. What species of bird does Job describe as stupid? (A very large bird)
10. Who ate honey from a lion's carcass? (He also killed the lion).
11. What was the relationship between Leah and Zilpah?
12. Which king ordered that when his subjects heard music they must fall down and worship him?
13. What reason is given for Isaac's preference of Esau over Jacob?
15. In a parable found in Judges, the trees decide to nominate a tree king. Which tree accepts the tree kingship (the fig, bramble, olive, or vine)?
*1. Half the work done! Mrs. B. Roth knew one of them was Abraham. The other guy was very closely related to Abraham.

I'm guessing Job for #2.
Yeah, he certainly wasn't too happy. "After this opened Job his mouth, and cursed his day. And Job spake, and said, let the day perish wherein I was born, and the night in which it was said, There is a man child conceived" (Job 3:1-3). He keeps going from there.
(Job must have been the first grad student. Maybe Ecclesiastes was his advisor.)
Sorry -- I didn't see this post before I answered. My answer on Joseph should still put me up, though.
Lora, That's ok! Your answer about Joseph correctly interpreting Pharoah's dreams will move you up the rainbow (Gen. 41:1-41).
"And Pharoah said unto Joseph, Forasmuch as God hath shewed thee all this, there is none so discreet and wise as thou art: Thou shalt be over my house, and according unto thy word shall all my people be ruled: only in the throne will I be greater than thou" (Gen. 41: 39-40).
It adds that he was 30 at the time. Then Pharaoh gives him the jazzy new name: "Zaphnathpaaneah."
I've taken them off the still-in-play list, but for the record, these were the questions baby olivia and lora answered:
2. Who cursed the day he was born?
and
14. Why was Joseph released from prison and given authority in Egypt?
Darn it, you put up clues! OK, here's what I'd guess.
1) Can either be answered straight up or as a trick question. Straight - Abraham and Isaac Trick - Abraham and Abram (he does it twice, once under Abraham and once as Abram
2)his hair
5) Jacob (or Isaac if you prefer)
6) Ostrich (sp?)
10) Samson, and he made it into a riddle!
11) Owner/Slave
13) Esau was the first born of the twins, thus he should have the favorable position, only mommy didn't see it that way
15) Bramble, the others are too busy being useful
I'm not sure I should be legal for this game . . . but it's fun anyway.
Sorry I answered so many. Some of us have never learned to read the instructions first. Mea culpa.
Actually, Tammy, for my symbol you can go into either of my blogs and either print off the Gold-Digging Nanny mug shot I've got on I Found All Six, or print off one of the pictures in the left-hand panel that I sketched for Boise Arts. Maybe that would be easiest.
Ok Lora, :) Thanks. I'm not sure my printer (low on color) will do justice to your lovely pics, but we'll see what I can come up with.
Oh Hello lutheranchick! I'm so glad to see you and happy you could make it by!
I think you were the last to want to play anyway. It's all good.
1) Can either be answered straight up or as a trick question. Straight - Abraham and Isaac Trick - Abraham and Abram (he does it twice, once under Abraham and once as Abram (Great point!).
2)his hair (yep). I reread the KJV just awhile ago and saw that it says "his head caught hold of the oak, and he was taken up between the heaven and the earth; and the mule that was under him went away" (2 Samuel 18:9). I love the detail about the mule going away. I guess logic demands that his long, lovely hair must have gotten tangled because why on earth would he "hang out" there until Joab comes to kill him.
5) Jacob (or Isaac if you prefer). They were looking for Jacob for this one.
6) Ostrich (sp?) Yeah, it's the Ostrich that "God hath deprived her of wisdom, neither hath he imparted to her understanding" (Job 39:17).
10) Samson, and he made it into a riddle! (Indeed, Judges 14:8-9). Samson's sentiment after they learn his riddle is lovely: "If ye had not plowed with my heifer, ye had not found out my riddle." I like how he goes about paying off his debt too, killing 30 guys and taking their stuff.
11) Owner/Slave (They like the term "maidservant" and the KJV says "handmaid" but yes, slave. Gen. 35:26).
13) Esau was the first born of the twins, thus he should have the favorable position, only mommy didn't see it that way.
Also Isaac liked the meat Esau got by hunting. (Gen. 25:28).
15) Bramble, the others are too busy being useful. (Yep, Judges 9:15).
