(Some of these were already answered. I’m just giving alternative correct answers.)
2. What answer was given by Samuel when God called him? “Yo Eli, whaddya want?” . . . or words to that effect, and I’m not just right, I’m three time right
7. Complete the instruction of Jesus: "Go ye therefore, and teach all nations. . . . " (17 words) and baptize ‘em, and instruct ‘em and you’re stuck with me forever (that being of course a paraphrase and not the actual phrasing)
10. What statement of Jesus confused and amazed Nicodemus? You must be born from above (or again). Plus there must be a whole of others that we don’t know, because he’s counted as a secret disciple at the end of the gospel.
11. In the beatitudes, who does Jesus say will receive mercy? The merciful, in other words those who are already full of it will receive more.
12. Finish the following line: "As for me and my house. . . ." (5 words) we shall serve the lord
13. Complete this verse: "Seek and ye shall find, . . . . " (6 words) knock and it shall be opened unto you . . . but it doesn’t fit.
14. Complete this sentence: "For dust thou art. . . . " (6 words) and to dust you shall return. It is either the answer or the effect of too many funeral recently.
17. Which book promises that "God shall bring every work into judgment with every secret thing whether it be good or whether it be evil"? Duh. The Bible.
18. Which book records Paul's correction of Peter for his shunning of the uncircumcised? Galatians, chapter 2, but I don’t know what verse
20. Which book tells us not to forget to entertain strangers, since some have thus entertained angels? They could mean either Genesis or Hebrews.
21. Where is this verse found: "Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen"? (Probably the way my advisor feels). In a book on my desk. Hebrews.
23. What did Jesus tell us not to do, "lest they trample them under their feet"? Cast pearls before obnoxious police officers.
25. Where should we have learned: "Much study wearies the body"? (Ok, that's my question). Then again, you do have to study to know that, ah, the paradox. Ecclesiastes, and really I find that the easy part. It’s the writing and the overscheduling that do me in.

Hello Lutheranchick,

2. Ah, yes, very nice.
7. Pretty much. "...baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost" (Matt 28:19).
10. That's cool about Nicodemus as the secret disciple. Bible Trivia is a good excuse to have you teach me new things.
11. Yes.
12. Yep.
13. Well, apparently they didn't really want the entire thing like they asked for, silly them! They didn't count "unto you" -- So, it's just random door opening... how rude!
14. Sorry to hear about the numerous funerals.
17. That was my cheeky answer too! It is "technically correct, which is the best kind of correct" (Futurama). I love that line and this one: "That is a less stupid question, although you asked it in a profoundly stupid way." They were looking for Ecclesiastes 12:14 (specifically). ;)
18. Yes, Galatians 2:11-21.
20. They could mean either Genesis or Hebrews. They were thinking of Hebrews 13:1.
21. Hebrews 11:1. They were really into Hebrews in this category.
23. Cast pearls before obnoxious police officers. ...I sense a story here! My curious ears are pricked.
25. Good luck with the schedule.

Well nobody answered these, so I am.

3. Is #3 something like cleave ye something something..... or am I totally off base. Hope I'm not seriously offending people here.

4. Since my Paul guess was wrong, I'm going with my #2 guess...John!

15. I think the response is "great gulf." Am I right?

16. The blessings of the Lord?

Umm. you know, the Bible Trivia people made this "wisdom" category especially difficult. Also, the book of Wisdom isn't technically IN the bible (unless you're Catholic and you have a weirdo bible)

John is CORRECT! :) (1 John 5:12).

15. Yes, "a great gulf fixed." (Luke 16:26). Very nice.

16. The blessings of the Lord? Rather the reverse on this one: "chastening" (Proverbs 3:11).

This category was difficult, but you did extremely well. Yes, ironically Wisdom was not included, but I know a couple of books are "wisdom" writings... like our fav. Eccl. and Proverbs, etc. At least, I think so.

I need to call you later, there's some news you would be interested in hearing.
