New development

Jonathan has learned to sit by himself! We keep the boppy by him, just in case. He sat and played for a good 20 minutes while I made lunch. Way to go kiddo. Mom is proud of you.

Lucky me

Jonathan, I'm so lucky to be your Mom. I really can't say how special you are little boy, there just aren't words for it. You wake up and play happily in your crib. You greet us with a smile when we come to get you. You snuggle up close and reach out for us. You laugh so easily. You have a joyful soul, and I hope you will always keep the light and laughter in your heart son.

Playing today

Jonathan was laughing a lot at Mom's silly voices while sitting with Dad. He really likes his new variety of toys from Grandma Baker, especially toys that make noises and squeak. I can't believe how big he is now. He sits up by himself, although he still needs a pillow or hand nearby. He is truly a fun, sweet little man.
In other news, Jonathan is now also eating carrots. We tried some a few days ago. He still prefers plain rice cereal, but he will eat a few bites of the orange stuff. He also enjoys rolling everywhere. He will roll across the whole living room, so I have to keep an eye on him. I love it when he rolls over to me. Everything he does is amazing to me.

9th Anniversary

Wild hair baby.
Tonight we went to Red Lobster to celebrate our 9 years of wedded bliss (not being ironic, just silly). Jonathan was such a good boy, playing with his toys while we ate.

Grandma B sent this green squeaky kitty today. Jonathan has a new best friend toy. He jumps every time when it squeaks at him, and then he smiles.
Here's a picture from a few days ago. Jonathan now has his first tooth! It came in on June 3, 2010-- his 6th month birthday. J.D. calls it "Chomper." I call it "Toothy."

June 14, 2010-- 6th month doctor's appointment. Jonathan is growing well and is a healthy, happy baby. He weighs 21 lbs. and 1 oz. He is 27.5 inches long, and has a head circumference of 44 cm. His height and weight are in the 90th percentile. His head circumference is in the 50-75th percentile. Here he happily gets weighed.

The whole family... waiting together at the doctor's.

He received two shots and the vaccine they drink. He only cried for the second shot and stopped after I picked him up and hugged him. He had a slight fever the day after, 100.8, but he seems to be recovered for the most part now. I do think most shots are harder on the parents than on the babies. We didn't give him any medicine, since our doctor told us about a study in which they found acetaminophen tends to slightly decrease the effectiveness of the vaccines. We want those shots to work as well as possible!

Call and Answer

First "solid" food

Here's Jonathan having his first "solid" food, rice cereal mixed with milk. Mom fed him first, and then Dad took over toward the end. He likes his rice cereal, and now we make it a little thicker. His first dining experience was alfresco.
