You should take a look sometime

I know we're all busy, but if you ever have some time for recreational reading--although not mindless-- you should take a look at Proust Was a Neuroscientist by Jonah Lehrer. I finished this book yesterday. I enjoyed it, and I would recommend it for anyone interested in any of the following figures: Walt Whitman, George Eliot, Auguste Escoffier, Marcel Proust, Paul Cezanne, Igor Stravinsky, Gertrude Stein, or Virginia Woolf.

But a bigger reason for reading this book is that it will change how you think about yourself, in terms of your brain and your senses: sight, smell & taste, and hearing.

It's not a perfect book, but it will make you appreciate all the mini-miracles it takes for basic and higher-level functioning in this world.
