I received a request to keep going with the Bible trivia game. We're up to "Names." The picture was from a while ago.
1. Name the paternal grandfather of Jacob. (It's nice they even considered the possibility of the maternal side)
2. In the NT, who was Malchus?
3. Who came to see Jesus privately at night? (Weird/creepy question)
4. Who was Obed's mother?
5. According to Luke, how many generations were there from Adam to Jesus?
6. Who died in the OT when his bowels fell out? (There's only one?)
7. Who was Moses' eloquent brother?
8. Name the mother of Boaz.
9. Name the most famous son of Jochebed.
10. Give two other first names by which Peter was sometimes called.
11. Who is the only Elizabeth mentioned in the Bible?
12. What woman in the OT was described as having weak eyes?
13. Whose home was Jesus visiting when he was anointed with spikenard? (Sounds painful)
14. Which son of Noah saw his father's drunken nakedness? (Nakedness can get drunk?)
15. Here's a family: Hosea, Gomer, Lo-ruhamah. How were they related?
16. Who was Ahab's wife?
17. Name the sister-in-law of Orpah.
18. Who was the first farmer specified in the Bible?
19. Who (other than Eve) is the first recorded thief in the Bible? (What's up with the parentheses?)
20. Who was Rachel's firstborn son?
21. Name the two sisters of Lazarus.
22. Who is the only male cousin of Jesus named in the Bible?
23. Who was the adopted daughter of Mordecai?
24. Who lived to be 962 years old?
25. Whose birth is described in Luke chapter 2? (For Michael)

Yay! I got to the list first! That means I get to pick and choose the easy ones, since I is dum with the bibles. :)
I am not going to cheat since I actually saw some of these on my own cards (seriously, they ran out of material and reran the same questions????!!!!)
1. Abraham! (oh please, tell me I'm right!)
Whose birth is described in Luke chapter 2? (For Michael)
JJJJJJEEEEEEEBBBBBUUUUUSSSS!!!!
Yes, both correct. :)
I find a lot of repeats. You'd think they would have enough material to avoid that!
OK, I am answering some more, since I actually know some of these:
21. Martha and Mary
22. John the Baptist
24. Methuselah
Um, I'm not sure, and I think I have this wrong, but is #11 Mary's mother? No wait, her name is Anne (according to the Cat-licks, as we say it in Chicago-speak). I can't remember the correct answer, but I have a really good guess, but I am going to leave it for someone else to answer. I also know #14 (I 'do' study slavery, as you know), but I will also leave it for someone else.
PS--what exactly did Eve steal....Adam's rib? Fig leaves?
I think it has to do with someone who got pregnant after she was too old and her husband didn't believe it and then he couldn't talk until the baby was born. I don't know why I remember this story so clearly......
I wanna answer more than one ... Such a nerd.
6 is Judas, no? Suicide after betraying Jesus.
7. Aaron.
11. John the Baptist's mum.
24. Methuselah -- not quite. I think they're really playing with the "exact" numbers here.
6. They're looking for an Old Testament figure, but you're right that gushing bowels are also associated with Judas.
Evidently, there are two different accounts of his death. I was familiar with Matt 27:3-10, where Judas hangs himself. There's also Acts 1:15-20 where Judas falls headlong and his bowels gush out. (How that happens, dunno). Also in Acts it doesn't appear he commits suicide; he just sort of trips and goes "splat."
Cute huh.
