From the Zero Draft

Gee, it doesn't look like much.

But my page today took me from 9:30 until 11:30. Of course, I was also rummaging through books and papers and such. It's not "the beginning," but it's "a beginning" for now.

Please feel free to say "what the hell?" Please point out to me any awkward sentences or ideas. Of course, this probably won't make much sense at this point. I'm sort of trying to be ambiguous and not explain myself too much because I want to Jump into it. In need to give myself a feeling of momentum.

Also, the whole magical cookies thing won't make much sense until you read pages 54-58 of Swann's Way with the epiphany on the nature of spontaneous memory. Merrill used the English translation by C.K. Scott Moncrieff for his thesis, so that's what I'm using.
