Procrastination. Now I don't know any of the ones left without looking them up. That's not cheating, right? The nerd in me MUST get one answer ... hold on ... I say #14 is feeding the 5 thousand. There's a sweet little book (now a major motion picture, highly recommend both) called Millions where a little boy sees and talks to various saints. Saint Peter has an brilliant interpretation of this particular miracle.

14. Feeding the 5,000 correct!

13. He doubted that his wife was pregnant (with John the Baptist). Or if you want to look at it more cynically in the woman-hating fashion, he thought she had committed adultery (with God, of course, like in that one episode of The Simpsons where God appears to testify in court as a beam of light to both Lisa as Joan of Arc and Groundskeeper Willie as the English).

8. Isn't the earliest miracle walking on water? But you're looking for the book----I'm going with Matthew (since it's the earliest book. HA! But it's probably a trick question!)

11. Well we know one of them was Jesus. Hmm, the other one, I'm going with Barrabas, the convert on the cross.

7. The Apostles (?)

Wait no, was it Paul?

I am totally taking advantage of your lenient grading style!

13. (Yes). He doubted that his wife was pregnant with John the Baptist.

8. (I think Mark is the earliest gospel, at least terms of writing, anyone please correct me if I'm wrong. With this question they want to know about Jesus' behavior at weddings.)

11. Well we know one of them was Jesus. (Yes, on the Jebus, for Michael!)

7. (Correct) Paul. --Hazard of all that missionary work.

3. Agrippa, such a promising name.

4. He suffered a Mike Tyson. His right ear was cut off by Simon Peter in the gospel of John.

5. Paul. He’s one of those Bible trivia answers like “Jesus.”

8. The gospel of John. He turns water into wine at a wedding feast in Cana at his mother’s request, even though he says it’s not his time yet, woman. In doing so he upends the notion of ritual purity and the temple system. (It appears right before the cleansing of the temple.) John lists it as the first of seven signs that he does.

12. Barnabas. Paul was Hermes.

15. John the Baptist, back from the grave and out for revenge. I smell a Biblical thriller here.

19. Paul. He did some work with Prisca and Aquila.

mrs. b. roth - Thanks. I think you've convinced me to watch Millions tonight (or at least this week). I have it at home from Netflix and keep on putting off seeing it. I'm hoping maybe I can use it for confirmation.

11) Umm . . . Jesus and Stephen?

vesperstar said...

Yep, they were looking for Stephen. (Acts 7:60)

How are you this fine evening?
